Playdate (2025)

What should have been just another ordinary day between father and son turns into an adrenaline-fueled nightmare. Brian, an unemployed accountant trying to keep up appearances, takes his son to a simple playdate with Jeff's son, a laid-back stay-at-home dad. However, the tranquility ends when both find themselves accidentally involved in a chase worthy of an action movie, with armed mercenaries, explosions, and situations completely out of control.

Without understanding how it all started, Brian must deal with his own fears and limitations while trying to protect his son and survive the craziest day of his life. Jeff, who seemed the quieter of the two, turns out to have some surprising secrets — and skills that add even more fuel to the fire of this mess.

Directed by Luke Greenfield (Miss Congeniality 2) and written by Neil Goldman, The Way Way Back mixes raunchy comedy and unbridled action, showing that being a father can be much more dangerous — and funny — than anyone imagines.
