Synopsis

Hijack 1971 (2024) brings to light a thrilling story based on real events, marked by tension, courage, and human dilemmas. During a flight to Gimpo Airport, the nightmare begins when one of the passengers takes control of the situation, demanding that the aircraft be flown to North Korea, where his brother lives.

On board, chaos intensifies with the explosion of a bomb that seriously injures the captain, leaving him partially blind. With the danger growing and the passengers in despair, co-pilot Tae-in must take command amid the pressure and find a way to remain calm, save lives, and deal with the deadly threat.

Directed by Kim Sung-han and written by Kim Kyung-chan, Hijacking 1971 combines human drama with high-level suspense, highlighting sacrifice, courage, and impossible choices in the face of an epoch-making crisis.
