The series follows the unusual daily life of Morihito Otogi, a schoolboy of ogre descent, whose ordinary routine is turned upside down by the arrival of his childhood friend, Nico - a witch-in-training with unstable talent and a declared crush on him.

Nico chooses Morihito as her “familiar”, someone who helps and protects her during her training as a witch. But this partnership comes with a dark prophecy: an inevitable calamity is approaching, and Morihito is charged with protecting her at all costs. The problem? Living day-to-day with the impetuous and romantic Nico is more chaotic than facing any supernatural creature.

Between spells that go wrong, unexpected monsters and the embarrassment of sharing a house with someone who is clearly trying to win his heart, Morihito has to balance reason and responsibility with feelings he doesn't always understand. The series mixes hilarious sequences - with out-of-control magic and absurd school situations - with moments of mounting tension as the signs of calamity intensify.
